My answer to What do you think for the Syrian President al-Assad visiting Christian Monastery for Christmas?

Assad being an Alawite is a minority in Syria itself. Within Sunni circles, he is considered a heretic.

He has always been nice to Christians and other minorities. So, no surprise here.

He is the last fort protecting the Eastern Orthodox Church and all other factions of Christians from being wiped out by Islamic radicals and rebels in Syria.

If he fails, Christians and their history will be erased from Syria. And these same rebels our govt. has been supporting will turn their focus on Israel.

Don’t forget, Syria’s landscape and border terrain offers the best staging points of attack to anyone bent on wrecking havoc on the Israelis.

And guess what! It has always been since Biblical days.

I hope Israelis’ remember Jezebel and the political pact that made her the Queen of Israel.
