My answer to What does Independence day mean today to young Americans?
Answer by Abbey Laurel-Smith:
It is a day to remember how the Imperial Russian Navy (acting on the orders of the Tsar) used its might or bully tactics, to fence off the hordes of the British, the Danes, the Dutch and the French from invading America from both sides of the sea – the Atlantic and the Pacific ocean.
Thus enabling:
- a defeat for the British.
- INDEPENDENCE for the U.S.
- the sale of Alaska to the new nation (U.S.) as a payback from Russia for British instigation of the Crimea war.
- and a way to curtail British foothold in the Pacific.
This is a documented but less known fact about American history, and its war of independence from Great Britain.
Putin’s Russia of today, is reaching out to the U.S. to join Russia and fight terrorism and ISIS together. Why is Mr. Obama, John Kerry and Hillary Clinton not taking him up on this joint offer?
