This video clip and statement comes across as if the Professor’s passion for political scholarship is being snuff out by his zest for partisan politics. And in this case, warming up to the camp of someone who is about to unleash her own version of “divine rights” on the American republic.
But then, what do you expect? Pensions are more easily got from Prince and Princess Clinton rather than a Republican Congress, so i’m not too surprised.
The effect of this kind of behavior on the academic establishments from the Republicans (young and old) will eventually be:
- so long as Mr. Chomsky and other academics keeps up this type of game, the Republicans will always be more than happy to vote huge sums towards the making of the next GENERAL – but never a penny to the scholar.
- that intellectual achievements will never be seen or regarded as service to the state and the republic at large, so long as we the people keep seeing this type of video clips.
